Job Summary:
The Accounting Standards Analyst and Change Management Lead will provide expert guidance and support to staff on accounting issues, particularly concerning Public Sector Accounting Board (PSAB) standards. This role involves knowledge transfer, template design, and assistance with the operationalization of new accounting standards. The analyst will also support efforts to improve the capture, amalgamation, presentation, and disclosure of information in compliance with PSAB standards. Location: Canada, Responsibilities:
- Provide advice on general accounting issues and proper accounting entries.
- Conduct knowledge transfer to staff regarding accounting standards updates.
- Design or redesign work templates for recording accounting data.
- Support current and future PSAB standards, addressing related issues.
- Assist with operationalizing new accounting standards and resolving post-implementation issues.
- Support efforts to improve information capture and disclosure in compliance with PSAB standards.
- Analyze and provide solutions for effectively capturing and disclosing PSAB-compliant information.
- Provide guidance on accounting standards relevant to the organization, including IFRS, GAAP, GASB, and IPSAS.
- Address accounting-related issues such as debt management and derivatives.
- Develop or amend internal accounting policies and procedural documents.
- Coordinate testing of newly designed procedures and implement solutions.
- Conduct knowledge transfer of all changes to staff and management. Required Skills & Certifications:
- 5+ years' experience with government financial reporting objectives related to fiscal accountability.
- 5+ years' experience with PSAB accounting standards.
- Canadian Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation.
- Experience working with a minimum of three Public Sector stakeholders reporting using PSAB standards.
- 3+ years' experience implementing IFRS fair value standards in large financial institutions in Canada.
- 5+ years' experience with government protocols regarding document confidentiality.
- 5+ years' experience leading change management and project management projects. Preferred Skills & Certifications:
